When a student hands in homework, it shows as Handed in in the workspace, and in your Workspaces list as "to review". Open it to see their work and reply.

1. Open the hand-in

In the workspace's Homework card, handed-in homework has a Review button (1). Select it.

2. Look at their work

The hand-in card (named after the student, for example Chris's hand-in) shows when they handed it in, their note, and their files (1). Select a file to open it.

3. Send feedback

Under Feedback, write your comments for the student (1). Select Attach (2) to add files, such as a marked-up page or a worked example. Then select Send feedback (3).

Feedback written (1), Attach (2) with a file added, and Send feedback (3)

You'll see "Feedback sent." Your feedback shows on the homework page and on the workspace timeline, and the student can read it there.

Sending feedback also moves the homework to Reviewed.

If you select Send feedback with the box empty, you'll see "Write your feedback first".

4. Or mark it as reviewed

If you've already talked it through in the lesson and have nothing to add in writing, select Mark as reviewed (1) at the top of the homework page instead. The hand-in is marked (2).

You'll see "Marked as reviewed." The steps move to Reviewed and the button goes.

The student sees "Marked as reviewed." from you under Feedback. You can still send written feedback afterwards.

Good to know

  • Your Home page lists homework handed in without feedback, so nothing waits unseen.

  • Feedback is visible to the student and to you only.
