Add or replace your payment method

Add the card your lessons are charged to, check it's ready, and replace it when it expires or your bank asks.

Your lessons are charged to one saved payment method, after each lesson takes place. You manage it on Billing. You need one before you can accept a tutor's reservation.

1. Open Billing

Select your name at the bottom of the menu, then Billing (1). On a phone, select More, then your name, then Billing.

2. Check your payment method

The Payment method card shows your card and a label that says whether we can charge it:

Label

What it means and what to do

Ready

All set. Each lesson is charged to it after it takes place.

Expires this month

Add a new card before it expires, so your next lessons can be charged.

Needs your OK again

Your bank changed this card, so it needs saving again. Select Replace and enter it again.

Expired

Add a new card so your lessons can be charged.

If you have none, the card says No payment method yet (1).

3. Add a payment method

  1. Select Add a payment method.

  2. Enter your card details. They're held by Stripe, our payment provider, never by Tutorspot. You can choose Revolut Pay or Amazon Pay at the top of the form instead of a card.

  3. Select Save payment method (1). Cancel closes the form.

If something is still missing, the card isn't saved. The form marks the fields it needs, and a message under it says "Some payment details are missing." (2). Check the Save my information for faster checkout box: it can already be ticked when the form opens, and when it's ticked, Stripe also needs a mobile number. Add your number, or untick the box, then select Save payment method again.

Your bank may ask you to confirm the card, for example with a code or in your banking app. When it's done, you see "Payment method saved." and the card shows Ready.

4. Replace your payment method

You keep one payment method at a time. To use a different card, or to save the same card again after your bank changed it:

  1. Select Replace.

  2. Enter the card details.

  3. Select Save new payment method.

The new card is used for every lesson from then on, including lessons you've already booked. If the form says some payment details are missing, fill in the marked fields, as in step 3.
