Your lessons are charged to one saved payment method, after each lesson takes place. You need one before you can accept a tutor's reservation.
1. Open Billing
Select your name at the bottom of the menu, then Billing (1). On a phone, select More, then your name, then Billing.
2. Check your payment method
The label on your card says whether we can charge it:
Label | What it means and what to do |
Ready | All set. |
Expires this month | Add a new card before it expires, so your next lessons can be charged. |
Needs your OK again | Your bank changed this card. Select Replace and enter it again. |
Expired | Add a new card so your lessons can be charged. |
3. Add a payment method
Select Add a payment method.
Enter your card details. They're held by Stripe, our payment provider. You can choose Revolut Pay or Amazon Pay at the top of the form instead.
Select Save payment method (1).
If anything is missing, the form marks it and shows "Fill in the fields marked above." (2). Then select Save payment method again.
Your bank may ask you to confirm the card, for example with a code or in your banking app. When it's done, the card shows Ready.
4. Replace your payment method
You keep one payment method at a time. To use a different card, or to save the same card again after your bank changed it:
Select Replace.
Enter the card details.
Select Save new payment method.
The new card is used for every lesson from then on, including lessons you've already booked.
Good to know
Nothing is charged when you save a card. Each lesson is charged after it takes place.
If a lesson couldn't be charged, Billing lists it under Lessons not yet paid for. See Fix a payment that didn't go through.
You can also add a card while accepting a reservation. See Accept a lesson reservation.
