Files you share in a workspace, such as a past paper or a photo of your notes, stay there for you and your tutor.

1. Share a file

Open the workspace, select Share file (1) and choose one or more files.

A workspace page with Share file marked 1

You'll see "File shared." The file appears at the top of Files (1), and the timeline shows that you shared it.

2. Or drag files onto the page

On a computer, drag files anywhere onto the workspace page and let go.

3. Check the file type

You can share photos (JPG, PNG, GIF), PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, TXT, RTF, MP3, MP4, WAV and MOV files. Other types aren't uploaded.

The message: notes.zip can't be shared (.zip files aren't accepted)

Files over 25 MB may fail to upload. If one fails, try a smaller version, such as a PDF instead of a scan.

4. Find a file

On the Files card, search by name (1), or filter (2) by All, Mine, your tutor, or Homework (files set with homework or handed in). Select See all files (3) for the full list.

Select a file name to open it. To find one, type part of its name in Search by file name (1) and press Enter.

5. Delete a file you shared

Select the bin next to a file you shared ((2) above). You can't delete files your tutor shared (3), and they can't delete yours.

Deleting removes the file from the workspace and anywhere it was attached, such as a homework hand-in, for both of you. Select Delete file to confirm.

Good to know

  • Files attached to a note or a hand-in also appear in the workspace's files.

  • A new file can take a moment to show up in a search.
