Signing up is free. Tutorspot only takes a fee from lessons you teach.

1. Go to the Become a tutor page

On tutorspot.co.uk, select Become a tutor in the top menu. The sign-up form, Create your tutor account (1), is on the right of the page.

2. See what you'd take home

Scroll down to See what you'd take home and drag Your hourly rate (1) and Hours a week (2). Each week (3) shows what you'd keep for those hours.

Tutorspot's fee is £3 plus 15% of your rate for each hour, taken from the lesson payment. At £40 an hour for 10 hours a week, you'd keep £31.00 an hour and £310.00 a week. Students pay your rate with no booking fee on top.

The earnings calculator set to £40 an hour and 10 hours a week, with the sliders marked 1 and 2 and the weekly total marked 3

You set a separate rate for each subject and level later, when you build your profile.

3. Fill in the form

Back at the top of the page, enter your First name, Last name, Email and a password of at least 8 characters in Create a password. Tick I accept the terms and privacy policy.

If you miss something, the form says which field needs attention, for example First name is required. or Please accept the Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.
