Before clients can find and book you, your profile must be complete and approved by our team. Home shows where you are and what's left.

1. Check where your profile is

On Home, the Set up your profile card shows how many steps you've done (for example 4 of 8 steps) and a three-stage tracker (1): Profile, In review and Live. The line under it tells you what's happening:

  • Finish the steps below and we'll review your profile. You're still setting up.

  • Profile Pending Approval: we're reviewing your profile and will let you know when it's live. Our team has it. There's nothing to do.

  • Profile is Rejected: check your alerts for what to change, then resolve them to send it back for review. We need you to change something (see step 4).

  • Profile is Live: clients can find and book you.

Below the tracker is the checklist. Finished items are ticked and crossed out. The first item still to do is open (2).

2. Work through the checklist

Select any unticked item to open it. It explains why it matters and has a button that takes you to the right place, for example Set rates (1). While you're still in the welcome guide, these buttons open the matching guide step.

The checklist has eight items: biography, profile photo, availability, qualifications, subjects, rates, location and contact details. The welcome guide covers all of them except qualifications. Add at least one qualification under Your profile > Qualifications so that our team can review your profile. Your profile goes for review only once all eight items are done.

3. When your profile is live

When we approve your profile, all three stages are ticked and the line reads Profile is Live: clients can find and book you.

Once we've approved your profile and every item is done, the card shrinks to one line: Your profile is live. Select View profile to see it as clients do, or Copy link to share it. Select the cross to hide the line.

4. Deal with account alerts

When our team needs something from you, an alert appears in Needs your attention on Home, labelled Account alert. Each alert has up to three buttons:

  1. The fix, such as Go to verification, Edit profile or Update DBS, which opens the page where you can sort it out.

  2. Details, which shows what we need.

  3. Mark as resolved, once you've done it.

Select Details to read the message from our team. The dialog also has the fix button, for example Edit profile.

5. Mark the alert as resolved

After you've made the change, select Mark as resolved. You'll be asked Mark this alert as resolved? This dismisses the alert permanently, so make the change first. Select Mark as resolved (1) to confirm, or Keep it to leave the alert in place.

You'll see Alert resolved. and the alert disappears from Home.

Good to know

  • If your profile was not approved, resolving the alert sends it back to our team for another look.

  • Alerts about your payout account come from Stripe, our payment provider. They show Continue with Stripe instead of Mark as resolved, and clear once Stripe has what it needs.

  • Changes you make to a live profile show on it straight away.
