Clients can find and book you once your profile is complete and our team has approved it.
1. Check where your profile is
On Home, the Set up your profile card shows how many steps you've done (for example 4 of 8 steps) and a three-stage tracker (1): Profile, In review and Live. The line under it says where you are:
Finish the steps below and we'll review your profile.
Profile Pending Approval: we're reviewing your profile and will let you know when it's live. There's nothing for you to do.
Profile is Rejected: check your alerts for what to change, then resolve them to send it back for review. See step 4.
Profile is Live: clients can find and book you.
In the checklist below the tracker, finished items are ticked and crossed out, and the first item still to do is open (2).
2. Work through the checklist
Select an unticked item to open it, then use its button, for example Set rates (1). While you're still in the welcome guide, these buttons open the matching guide step.
The eight items are biography, profile photo, availability, qualifications, subjects, rates, location and contact details. The welcome guide covers all of them except qualifications: add at least one under Your profile > Qualifications. Your profile goes for review only once all eight are done.
3. When your profile is live
When we approve your profile, all three stages are ticked.
Once every item is also done, the card shrinks to one line: Your profile is live. Select View profile to see it as clients do, or Copy link to share it. The cross hides the line.
4. Deal with account alerts
When our team needs something from you, an Account alert appears in Needs your attention on Home. Each alert has up to three buttons:
The fix, such as Go to verification, Edit profile or Update DBS.
Details, which shows what we need.
Mark as resolved, once you've done it.
The Details dialog has the message from our team and the fix button.
5. Mark the alert as resolved
After you've made the change, select Mark as resolved, then Mark as resolved (1) again in Mark this alert as resolved?. This dismisses the alert permanently, so make the change first. Keep it leaves the alert in place.
You'll see Alert resolved. and the alert disappears from Home.
Good to know
If your profile was not approved, resolving the alert sends it back to our team for another look.
Alerts about your payout account come from Stripe, our payment provider. They show Continue with Stripe instead of Mark as resolved, and clear once Stripe has what it needs.
Changes you make to a live profile show on it straight away.
