A tutor's profile is where you decide whether to get in touch. Open one by selecting View profile or the tutor's name in your search results.
1. The top of the profile
At the top you'll see the tutor's name (1), photo, star rating and number of reviews, and a one-line introduction. Badges (2) show checks such as DBS certificate on file, and whether they teach Online lessons, in person, or both.
Three key facts (3) follow: how quickly the tutor usually replies, how many reviews they have (or hours taught), and when they're available.
The links under them (4) jump to each part of the profile: About, Checks, Reviews, Subjects and prices, Qualifications and References.
The box on the right shows the tutor's price for the subject and level you searched, and lets you message them. See Message a tutor and create your account.
2. About
In the tutor's own words: about them, their tutoring experience, how they plan lessons, and sometimes the exam boards they know and past successes.
3. Checks and background
What we've checked. Every listed profile has been approved by our team. You'll also see whether the tutor has uploaded a DBS certificate, how many references they have (with a link to the scores), how many qualifications they've listed, and when they joined Tutorspot.
4. Reviews
The latest reviews, with the reviewer's name, date and star rating. Only clients the tutor has sent a lesson booking to can leave a review. Select All 4 reviews (or however many there are) to read them all.
The reviews page lists every review. Select Back to Jordan's profile (with the tutor's name) to return, or Message Jordan to get in touch.
5. Subjects and prices
Every subject and level the tutor teaches, with the hourly rate for online and in-person lessons. There are no booking fees on top.
6. Qualifications
Each qualification with the subject and grade, as listed by the tutor.
7. References
Average scores out of 5 from the tutor's referees, for reliability, commitment, punctuality and honesty.
When a tutor isn't taking students
Some tutors pause new enquiries. Their profile says, for example, "Morgan isn't taking new students right now", and you can't message them. Select See similar tutors who are, or pick one of the Tutors taking students now on the right. Get matched with a tutor asks our team to find one for you.
On a phone
The profile shows the same parts, one under another. The message box moves to a bar at the bottom of the screen.
Good to know
Under the profile, Find more tutors links to other tutors for the same subjects.
Prices shown at the top and in search results are for the subject and level you searched, or the tutor's lowest rate.
