Every page has a menu on the left (a tab bar on a phone) and a top bar with the page title, search, notifications and help.
The menu
The menu (1) lists the places you go most. A number next to an item (2) is how many things there need you, such as reservations to accept or conversations with unread messages. Your name at the bottom (3) opens the account menu.
Tutors also have Lesson reports (1), Clients and Payments. Your profile (2) opens to show Profile, References and Verification, with how complete your profile is.
To hide the menu, select the panel icon at the left of the top bar, or press Ctrl+B (⌘B on a Mac).
The account menu
Select your name at the bottom of the menu. Under Settings are Personal details and Notifications. Parents and students also have Billing (1), and tutors have Lesson preferences and View public profile. Below them are Help, Cookie settings and Sign out.
The top bar
The page title, with the pages above it to the left so you can step back.
Search or jump to…
The bell, for notifications.
The help icon.
Search and jump
Select Search or jump to… or press Ctrl+K (⌘K on a Mac). Before you type, you see suggestions, such as reservations to accept, and pages you visited recently.
Type to find a page, an action or a person: parents can find their tutors, and tutors their clients. Use the arrow keys and Enter to open a result, or Esc to close.
Notifications
The number on the bell is how many things need your attention: for parents, reservations to accept and payments that didn't go through; for tutors, account alerts such as documents to upload again. Select the bell, then an item to deal with it, or See them on Home.
On a phone
The tab bar at the bottom has Home, Lessons, Messages (1) and Reservations, with counts. Select More (2) for everything else.
More opens the full menu. Your name at the bottom opens the account menu, which is where Help is on a phone.
When a lesson is starting soon
About 10 minutes before a lesson, the top bar on every page shows the lesson, its start time, a button to join and Details.
A Starts in 5 min window also opens once for each lesson, for parents and tutors. Select Join Classroom (or the button for your video call) to join, Lesson details to see the lesson, or the cross to close it.
Good to know
If a tutor hasn't added a video link yet, the window offers them Add video link instead.
