You can get a text message as well as an email when someone messages you, and choose which cookies Tutorspot may use.

1. Open Notifications

Select your name at the bottom of the menu (1), then Notifications (2). On a phone, select More first.

The account menu, with the account button marked 1 and Notifications marked 2

2. Email notifications

Email is always on. We email you when a message is still unread a few minutes after it arrives, so you won't get an email for messages you've already read in your account.

3. Turn on text messages

Text messages need a mobile number. If SMS is greyed out, select Add one (1), add your Mobile phone on Personal details and select Save.

Back on Notifications, tick SMS (1), then select Save (2).

You'll see Notification preferences updated. To stop text messages, untick SMS and save again.

4. Change your cookie settings

In the Cookies card, select Cookie settings (1). It's also in the account menu and at the bottom of the sign-in page.

Select Manage (1) to choose, Reject all (2) to allow only the cookies the site needs to work, or Accept all (3).

The Cookies on Tutorspot panel, with Manage marked 1, Reject all marked 2 and Accept all marked 3

In Manage, turn Analytics (Google Analytics) and Functional (Intercom live chat) on or off, then select Save choices (1). Close leaves things as they were.

Good to know

  • Live chat with our team only works if you allow Functional cookies. Without them, Help takes you to our contact form. See Get help.

  • Your cookie choice is saved in the browser you're using, so you may be asked again on another device.
