Set homework in the workspace you share with a student. They see it straight away and hand it in on the same page, and you're told when they do.

1. Start from the workspace

Open Workspaces, choose the student and subject, and select Set homework (1).

You can also start from a lesson page: see step 5.

2. Fill in the homework

The empty Set homework form
  • Title (1): a short name the student will recognise, such as "Solving linear equations".

  • Description (2): what to do.

  • Due date (3): optional. Homework is due at 17:00 on the day you pick.

  • Files (4): select Attach Files to add worksheets or examples.

Title and description are required.

The form with Title can't be blank and Description can't be blank

3. Set it

Select Set homework. You'll see "Homework set." and the homework page opens. The student's hand-in, such as Chris's hand-in, says "Not handed in yet" until they hand it in.

The homework also appears in the workspace's Homework card and on its timeline, and attached files are added to the workspace's files.

4. Changed your mind?

If you select Back after typing anything, you're asked "Leave without setting it?". Select Keep writing to go back to the form, or Discard homework to leave without saving.

5. Set homework from a lesson page

Open a lesson from Lessons and select Set homework (1) in its Homework card.

The same form opens with the Due date (1) set to the day of your next lesson with that student.

Good to know

  • A workspace with no student yet can't have homework. The student joins when they accept a lesson reservation.

  • Homework stays open until the student hands it in. Overdue homework shows in red in the workspace and in your Workspaces list.

  • Archiving a workspace doesn't close its open homework.
