A lesson reservation books regular lessons with a client: the subject, days and times, lesson length and your rate. Once the client accepts it, the lessons go into both your diaries.
You'll need: a payout account with Stripe, our payment provider. If it isn't set up yet, see "If you haven't set up payouts" below.
1. Start a new reservation
Go to Reservations and select New lesson reservation. The same button is on Home and on each client's page.
From a client's page, the client, subject, level and rate are filled in from your last reservation with them.
2. Choose the client, subject and level
Start typing in Client and pick the client from the list.
Then choose a Subject (2) and a Level (3). The rate fills in from your profile.
3. Set the days and times
Under Days and times, tick each day the lessons happen and choose a time for it. Then set:
Frequency: Every week, Every two weeks, Every three weeks or Every month.
Starting: today or later.
Ending: 31 July at the end of the school year, unless you change it.
The Preview shows the first and last lesson, how many lessons there will be and what you'll earn in total.
If a time clashes with a lesson already in your diary, the day is marked Clashes (1) and the preview tells you how many lessons clash (2). Select Review conflicts to see them.
4. Choose how long each lesson lasts
Pick a Duration: 30 minutes, 1 hour, 1 hour 30 minutes or 2 hours.
For anything else, select Schedule a longer lesson and type the length, for example 1h 45m (1). The preview and earnings update straight away (2). Select Back to return to the list.
5. Check your rate
Enter your Rate per hour. The Rate breakdown shows the amount per lesson, the Tutorspot fee and your Earnings per lesson. Point to the info icon to see what the fee covers.
6. Send the reservation
Select Send reservation. If any lessons clash, the Schedule conflicts dialog lists them under the time that causes them. Select Change time to pick another time, or untick the day.
When there are no clashes, you see Lesson reservation sent. and the reservation's page opens. It says who you sent it to and that you're waiting for them to accept.
If you haven't set up payouts
Stripe must be able to pay you before a reservation can be sent. Until then, the form shows a notice at the top. You can still fill it in.
When you select Send reservation, you see Set up payouts first. Select Set up payouts with Stripe (1) to finish your payout account on Stripe's site, or Back to the reservation (2) to keep editing. Nothing is sent yet.
If you go back, the form tells you Reservation not sent yet and keeps everything you entered.
When you come back from Stripe, your reservation is restored as you left it. Check it, then select Send reservation. If Stripe still needs something, you'll see Set up payouts first again with what's missing.
On your phone
The form has three steps: Who and what, When, and Rate and review. Use Next and Back at the bottom. The bar at the bottom shows No days chosen yet until you pick days in When, then the number of lessons and your earnings. On the last step, the bar shows the number of lessons and your earnings next to Send reservation.
Good to know
If you select Send reservation with something missing, each problem is shown in red under its field, for example Client can't be blank or At least one day of the week is required.
Lessons must be at least 30 minutes and no longer than 12 hours.
